Step-by-step instructions

Follow each step in order. Photos show what to look for so the basket finish matches the plate.

Cook

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (177°C). Do not start hotter on the first try: sugar in some bacons can burn.

  2. Lay the strips in a single layer. Overlapping pieces will steam instead of crisp. Cook in batches if needed.

  3. Cook 7-12 minutes depending on thickness, flipping once halfway. Thin bacon finishes closer to 7 minutes; thick-cut often needs the full time.

  4. Move the bacon to a towel or rack to drain. Pour off the fat in the drawer before the next batch so it does not smoke.

  5. Serve hot. Save the drained fat in a jar for eggs or potatoes if you like.
