Air Fryer Fennel

Fennel roasts beautifully in the air fryer—wedges keep their layers while the cut faces caramelize. Trim the stalks, slice into eight wedges with the core intact, toss gently with olive oil and seasonings, then cook at 380°F until tender and golden. A squeeze of lemon at the table is the classic finish.

Air Fryer Fennel

Keep the core

Leave the bottom of the bulb intact so the layers stay together. Cut off too much and the wedges fall apart in the bowl.

Toss gently

Fennel layers are fragile. A light hand when coating with oil keeps wedges whole.

Size for your basket

Large bulbs may need more than eight wedges so every piece cooks through without burning the tips.

Crowding. One bulb in wedges fits one layer in most baskets. Cook in two batches for a double recipe.
Basket liner (optional). Parchment is optional here. A light oil toss keeps wedges from sticking.
