Air Fryer Green Beans

The air fryer dry-fries green beans fast: high heat and moving air browns the pods while they stay grassy and sweet inside. Toss trimmed beans with olive oil, salt and pepper, cook at 400°F, shake once, and serve while the edges are still crisp.

Air Fryer Green Beans

Preheat the basket

A hot start helps the beans blister instead of steaming. Five minutes at 400°F is worth it.

Shake halfway

Remove the basket and toss once the beans start to brown so both sides char evenly.

Pull at crisp-tender

Two more minutes after the shake is usually enough. Past that they go limp and lose their snap.

Crowding. One pound fits most 6 qt baskets in one loose layer. Overlap heavily and they steam instead of blister.
Basket liner (optional). Air fryer paper basket liners are optional. They catch drips and make cleanup easier. Use the molded type that fits your basket; air flows around the sides. Never cover the whole basket floor with solid foil.
